How to Make Money with Google AdSense in Kenya: Part 1

This is a series of posts that intend to inform, enlighten and give you practical approaches to how you make money with AdSense in Kenya. I have been asked this question by many people who want to start making money online in Kenya with AdSense severally. 

I would like to use my blog as an example of how to start a blog that makes you passive AdSense income with no or little effort. Since this is the very first post I am posting in this series about making money with AdSense in Kenya, I want to begin with a brief introduction of what AdSense is.

What is Google AdSense?

AdSense is simply a contextual advertisement program from Google that allows you to place ads on your website and you are paid for that ad, whenever the ad is clicked or viewed. 

The more click or views your website receives the more money you make from your website. When you sign up for AdSense, or any other online advertisement program you are referred to as the publisher.

 How Does AdSense Really Work?

Once you sign up for AdSense and you have a website that is getting some decent traffic you are allowed to places ads by Google, like the example below:

All ads from Google will have a term “Ads by Google”. if someone visits your website and clicks on that ad, you will be paid a certain amount of money.

   How much do you make every time an ad is clicked?

The amount you make every time an ad is clicked depends on a number of factors. Before the ad appears on your website, the advertiser approaches Google and set ups an Ad campaign that is based on a certain budget, the budget is weighed down to the charge the advertiser is willing to pay every time their ad is clicked. 

The objective of clicking the ad is to lead the person who clicks to the advertiser’s website, or to a call of action like advertisers Facebook fan page or a certain promotion…

How is the payment of AdSense Calculated?

The payment is calculated based on the budget set by advertisers. There is a general term used to describe this payment – CPC which means Cost per click in full. The buyer instructs Google to payout a certain amount say $0.4 every time the ad is clicked.

  In a nutshell that is the most basic explanation of what AdSense. Part 2- 10 will explain to you how to set up a blog and implement AdSense to start making money with AdSense right here in Kenya.
