I often wonder if anyone in Kenya takes bloggers seriously. We are
at the brink of turning our country round from the analogue to digital systems
virtually in all industries.
It worries me how our continued ignorance and poor readership continues to plague our country with little efforts being made to encourage readership and literature creativity.
I once read a newspaper article where the writer wondered if there would be any Chinua Achebe (s), Ngugi Wathiongo (s) or Wole Sonyika (s) in our generation. I also think like the author it will take a miracle for our generation to develop such literature giants!

Kenyan
Reading Culture: Change of Mindset Needed
I have heard time and again that Kenyans have a poor reading
culture, this could possibly be the reason we do not take blogging seriously. I
get worried to see gossip bloggers get millions of views while a resourceful
blogger in Kenya gets small aberrant traffic that was possibly not meant for
his blog.
If this is the way we will embrace digital technology in Kenya,
there will be no difference in the perception of digital evolution.
Creative use of online content and Blog
for Business Marketing
Blogging will contribute immensely to Kenyans realizing the full
effect of digital evolution. We should encourage people to keep blogging,
creating content online and sharing useful content on social media platforms.
Blogs and websites are the center of development and dissemination of online
content.
They play the center role in hosting online content; we should
teach our fellow Kenyans how to use blogs for business promotion,
organizational and company news updates and to encourage creativity and reading
culture in Kenya.
I have seen even government and large organization blogs that are rarely updated, worse some popular company in Kenya have a dormant website in without a blog. Blogging has true business marketing value especially when geared towards implementing email marketing campaigns, ecommerce and general business leads creation.

In my opinion every
business in Kenya that seeks to increase the value they get from their website,
they should consider content marketing as a good way to get started with
internet marketing at zero budget. It only takes a few hours a day to update
content and inform your customers on the new company or business updates.
