Content Marketing seems to be the new buzz word in the realms of
internet marketing and online business promotions. Indeed this is true since
Google is paying more and more attention to creative content creators, curators
and marketers.
I read a post on my favorite blog about 2013 being the year for
the writer. True to this; we have seen increasing positive recognition for quality
content since the beginning of this year.
This began by the Google Authorship
program that seeks to help authors of online content become successful by
ranking quality articles in the search results. I can’t help but wonder about
the great things the big ‘G‘has in store for creative content marketers in the
future.
I have always believed and talked about content being KING. Today I walk the talk by creating
useful content for my websites visitors who continue to appreciate and recommend
this content to other people online.
So what is content Marketing?
Content means any form of information
that may be presentable to a reader, viewer or listener. In the online context
the content may be defined as anything that can be viewed as a video posted in
a website like You Tube or any written form of content presented to a reader in
any form.
Content marketing therefore is a
collective effort of using content to promote businesses online. This means you
can use articles, eBooks, videos, Infographics, white papers or guides to pass
important information about your business to potential customers online.
Customer Acquisition through Content
Marketing
Customers may be acquired through
content marketing by asking them to follow a certain call of action. A good
video can request the viewer to visit a certain website. On the website the
visitor can fill a form to sign up for a service or buy a product.
By leading
this viewer to turn him or her to a website visitor who then buys products and
turns to a customer the full course of using video content marketing is achieved.
Acquiring customers through content
has never been a problem, you should look for the kind of content that will
enlighten your audience, entertain, educate them and entice them to take
action, like buy a product or subscribe to a service. You will then realize the
full potential of content marketing.
It helps to note that content
marketing does not endorse hyped up content but rather nurturing communication
with your would-be-customers to cultivate their loyalty, with the valuable
information you are sharing. These customers will not be afraid to buy from
your any products you propose in the long run.
Example
Content marketing is about building
powerful relationships with your customers to help in marketing your products
or services in the future.
It is about
building a brand reputation. It does take time by the rewards are worth every effort
you put to building your business reputation and relationship with content
marketing.
There are many successful example of
content marketing we can highlight here but one of the most obvious examples to
help you understand content marketing better is one story of John Deere.
The
organization launched a magazine geared at providing famers with important information
on how they can increase their profits.
The magazine reaches about 1.5 million
readers today in different languages; this is one of the best ways they have strategically
promoted their business to prospective customers for years.
