5 Considerations for Creating and Selling a Website for a Fortune
As I wrote previously about making money selling websites in Kenya and highlighted a story of how Steve sold a website for a fortune. Today I would like to share 5 important tips on how you can create a website and sell it for good cash. I would like to use this post to respond to questions emailed to me on where to sell a website, how to evaluate a website for sale and how you can create a website that you will sell for a fortune. I hope this post helps you appreciate the creating and selling websites as one of the many online business opportunities that you can use to make money.

#1) Where do you Sell a Website?
For those people who have not heard about selling websites for good cash, you may want to read my earlier post here. The other most common question about websites sale is where a website can be sold. There are many online website market platforms for sale of website.

The most popular  platform is Flippa. Flippa offers a reliable platform for selling websites. If you have a website that you would like to sell you may want to look at the different websites that are listed in Flippa for sale for you to get the best picture on how worthy your website is for sale.

# 2) Age of the Website
Aged websites are known to sell for more than the websites that do not have aged domain. Although this is not always the case since the value of a website is determined by the business that the website drives, All the same the website with an aged domain name is more likely to attract good offers from buyers.

# 3) Traffic of your Website
The traffic to your website is the single most important factor that will determine the revenue of your website. It is therefore positively correlated with the price that the website can be sold. If your website is attracting high traffic i.e. talk of > 100,000 visitors in a month, you can sell the website for good amount. You should therefore view your website as an asset that you should grow by improving the amount of traffic to your website.

# 4) Number of Unique Visitors
The number of unique visitors is an important factor involved in the pricing of a website. The unique visitors that your website receives are a representation of the new business and the capacity of your business in future.

#5) Amount of Revenue Generated by your Website
The amount of revenue that your website makes from the various ways you have employed to monetize your website, it an important consideration when you are determining the price of your website. In most cases the monthly income the site earns is multiplied by 10 to get the approximate value or worth of your website. If your website makes $30 per month, you can comfortably sell it for $300.
